Day 3 of My Journey from 64 to 65 Resilience
Yesterday I talked a little bit about mental health in students, however most of us know it is not just students and the young especially in these tough times since lockdown in March 2020. Trying to remain positive is not easy it requires a lot of resilience which I also mentioned yesterday. What does it mean?
A NOUN meaning having the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties, toughness. And the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity. I guess in today’s world it is having to bounce back repeatedly from the restrictions placed on all of us thanks to the #Pandemic. Everyone will have their own reasons, family loss, monetary loss, illness, people who now have #LongCovid and a myriad of other ailments caused from losing the simple things in life like not being able to meet family and friends, getting the hair done, to hospital appointments that have been delayed and the problems that that causes. All this contributing to what media is confirming that mental health could soon spiral out of control. And from first-hand experience I know there simply is not enough mental health experts in the pool to help all those that need it, some more than others.
If anyone is wondering where this journey is heading, I hinted to it yesterday but on day three I am going to cut to the chase. Yesterday I also mentioned a good friend whom I met for the first time in Dusseldorf in 2010. About three weeks after that meeting, he recorded a brief video and uploaded it to YouTube his name is Mark Comer. Hope you take a little inspiration from what he says and if you would like to find out a bit more about what he is talking about simply drop me a line on Twitter or Join Our Facebook Page.
