What lives inside you
Whilst the entire country grinds to a halt in the full brace of the #BeastFromTheEast the traits of the Great British Public remain unchanged.
I mentioned this yesterday, powerful warnings about smoking adverts and cancer-smoking kills, branding removed, and cigarettes are now held in nicotine prisons in every retailer premises the length and breadth of the country. Here’s a few others, sugar is bad for you, so is too much salt, alcohol warnings, stop your unhealthy habits and you might avoid type 2 diabetes and here’s the link! In wake of all the red and amber weather warnings DON’T DRIVE and what do we do-DRIVE and complain when we get stranded, awesome! Now is this the Great British Spirit or have we become a nation of people who are so set in our ways that if the extinction level event was announced we would simply raid the supermarkets and wait for the inevitable? I will leave you to ponder that one and why we keep making the same mistakes day after day.
I was also somewhat bemused last night to see a series of tweets from so called internet entrepreneurs all clambering for attention with the promise of riches if you follow me and send me $99.97 for my method of financial independence or superior fitness, one was even promising getting you onto Ted Talks. Anyone who doesn’t know what Ted Talks are just click here to find out. I would recommend that you download the Ted App and watch some inspirational speakers instead of Jeremy Kyle on these days that you are snowed in. No offence intended Jeremy. I have a particular favourite Ted Talk which I will share in a later post. However, this prompted me to tweet “Everyone everywhere is looking in the wrong direction why? Too many people are still having heart attacks and strokes and diabetes and obesity are spiralling out of control. Empower yourself to take control of your health OR don’t #lookharder stop the excuses” @CampbellB_Young
For me either look harder, do your due diligence and make your choice, or don’t. The option is really simple pay for your health now or pay for your illness later and that might just cost you a lot more than money.
I work with a fantastic group of people including two PHD’s who can make #lookharder for #elitehealth a little bit easier. Another app I would highly recommend is Johann Ilgenfritz’s UK Health Radio where you can tune in a listen to a plethora of cutting edge information about health-your health. This is where people can find out the truth about what is readily available, legally and easy to order from reputable companies.
Gut Health
On day three of purifying my gut health, the hardest thing so far has been sticking with the pea protein and frozen fruit and veg. My heart is telling me to carry on, but my head is looking at 10 inches of snow a howling wind and hot bowl of homemade soup is winning that battle. I must man up and include the pea protein. I am determined to rid my gut of unhealthy bacteria and replace it with healthy bacteria and share my results with everyone. Not just the weight loss but also how it changes my appearance, myself emotionally and more importantly my heart health.
It saddened me to learn last night that Bobby Knutt of Benidorm fame had passed away in September from a heart attack aged just 71.
